The fourth meeting of the Sub-Working Group on the “Green Energy Zone”, established for the preparation of the “Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2027–2030”, has been held.

The meeting was chaired by Deputy Minister of Ministery of Energy Samir Valiyev, who spoke about the activities of the Sub-Working Group on the “Green Energy Zone,” created by the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 18, 2025. It was noted that over the past period, the Sub-Working Group had convened three meetings, while the Expert Group, consisting of specialists, had held five meetings.

During the session, participants discussed the preparation of the draft Action Plan for the Strategy, the identification of target indicators, the definition of priority areas of activity, and issues related to financing mechanisms.

Təranə Salıfova, Advisor to the Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), and Gultaj Ahmadzada-Tapdigzada, a representative of the Center’s Monitoring and Evaluation Division, took part in the discussions.

At the meeting, the final draft of the Action Plan for the “Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2027–2030” was presented. It was noted that, under the “Green Energy Zone” objective, five key target indicators, seven activity directions, 45 measures, and 17 implementing agencies have been identified. Participants were informed about the measures envisaged under each activity direction, the responsible institutions, and implementation timelines. The sources of funding for the measures were also discussed.

Taking into account the received feedback, the draft Action Plan was approved as satisfactory, and it was decided to submit the final version to the relevant authorities in due course.
