A meeting of the Working Group on Innovation was held to discuss the implementation of measures under Goal 3.2 (“Creative and Innovative Society”) of the “Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022–2026” during the first half of 2026. The results of the monitoring and evaluation conducted by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) were discussed in detail at the meeting. Proposals and recommendations were put forward to ensure the timely and high-quality implementation of the tasks set. At the same time, taking into account that 2026 is the final year of the Strategy’s implementation period, relevant instructions were given to complete the implementation of outstanding measures by the end of 2026.

In addition, various working groups were established by Order No. 487s of the Cabinet of Ministers dated June 12, 2022, including the Working Group on Innovation tasked with supporting the implementation of Goal 3.2 of the Strategy, in order to ensure the full and timely implementation of the measures envisaged in the “Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022–2026” and coordinate the activities of relevant state institutions.

The Working Group on Innovation is chaired by Rashad Hasanov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport. The Working Group is represented by senior officials from CAERC, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Science and Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Defense Industry, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Culture, and the Ministry of Energy, as well as the Central Bank, the State Customs Committee, the State Committee for Diaspora Affairs, the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Agency of Water Resources, the State Migration Service, the State Border Service, the Intellectual Property Agency, and the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.
