The "Green Energy Space" section of the general report, focusing on the goal of "Green Energy Space" within the monitoring and evaluation framework for the first half of the current year, was discussed in a hybrid format within the goals set for 2023 by the "Socio-economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2022-2026" group.

Elnur Soltanov, the Chairman of the working group and Deputy Minister of Energy, outlined the measures outlined in the Strategy under the National Priority "Clean environment and Green Growth country" and emphasized that one of the main target indicators is to increase the share of renewable energy sources in the installed power of electricity production. He mentioned that, in addition to the goal of "green energy space," relevant measures are being implemented to create a "green energy" zone, especially in the territories freed from occupation and in Nakhchivan.

Later, Ramil Huseyn, Deputy Chairman of the Working Group and Deputy Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, presented the progress report on the "Green Energy" area, noting that a solid foundation has been formed for sustainable development in this area.

During the meeting, discussions were held on the measures related to the "Green energy space" goal, actions taken to achieve the goals, improvements in the regulatory environment in the energy sector, increased use of renewable energy sources, attraction of foreign investors in this field, and integration of new generation powers into the energy system. The opinions of the working group members on the report were considered, and it was deemed appropriate to enhance the draft report, taking into account the suggestions and recommendations.

In addition to the Ministry of Energy and IITKM, the "Green Energy Space" Working Group includes representatives from the Ministries of Economy, Ecology and Natural Resources, Agriculture, Digital Development and Transport, Finance, Emergency Situations, SOCAR, Central Bank, Azerbaijan Investment Holding, State Statistics Committee, State Urban Planning and Architecture Committee, State Customs Committee, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, State Water Resources Agency, "Melioration and Water Management," "Azerenergy," "Azerishig," "Azeristiliktehizat" JSCs.

It should be noted that the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 12, 2023, ensures the full, timely, and effective implementation of the measures provided for in the "Socio-economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2022-2026" and the coordination of the activities of the relevant state bodies, for which 8 working groups were created.
