An online meeting was held to clarify the target indicators for the upcoming year within the framework of the “National Strategy for the Efficient Use of Water Resources.”

The meeting was attended by Orkhan Sadiqov, Head of the Monitoring and Evaluation division of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), Arzu Suleymanov, Head of the Efficiency Assessment Sector, other staff members of the division, and representatives of the main implementing institutions specified in the Action Plan.

During 2024–2027, the coordinated activities carried out by the implementing institutions under the indicators defined in the Action Plan of the National Strategy aim to increase water resources, improve the supply of quality drinking and irrigation water, modernize management in this field, and strengthen cooperation in line with international conventions.

At the meeting, participants emphasized the importance of ensuring reporting for 2025 within the Action Plan, as well as focusing on key directions during the indicative planning of the next stage of implementation.

In addition, they highlighted the importance of ensuring the full and effective implementation of the planned measures and enhancing evaluation opportunities under the Action Plan.

It should be noted that according to Article 4 of the Presidential Decree No. 320 of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated October 10, 2024, on the approval of the “National Strategy for the Efficient Use of Water Resources,” the CAERC has been assigned to carry out the monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of the measures outlined in the Strategy upon the request of the Cabinet of Ministers.
